But yeah, there are a heck of a lot of ways to distort voices and other sounds. You can do just about anything to sound with a computer and some good software. I've been playing piano for 9 years (god, it's been a while) and cello for 3 1/2 years in a school orchestra. I also had a trumpet for about 6 months, during which I at least picked up how to use it (can't exactly say I can play it yet, though) and I have recently started taking drum lessons, which I hope to continue with for a while. My taste in music spans far and wide. The weird thing is, though, I don't really listen to any very mainstream stuff, mostly alternative/indie/post rock or music of various genres by independent artists that no one's ever heard

Just Be Friends@Macfluffers: Most songs are specifically designated to the singers. Visuals offer some distinction and ranking. Plus, most use Autotune, so Vocaloid isn't much different. Vocaloid use a person's voice to make the base of it, and then they created a variations with the software. It wasn't famous until Miku came along though.
