QUOTE (Jakemaster64 @ Oct 25 2009, 07:23 PM) quotecWell as i think i have seen all around the item Tale memory drops allows you to bring your characters to part 2.. if thats not right just ignore the rest ><So if you characters can be brought into part 2 what will people who have not played part 1 do? think about it will they be at a disadvantage or will when u load your characters the game will get a lot harder....Whats going through my mind is that think about Nera dealing like 15k with moon waltz build while a starter has to do like 125-500 dmg with the normal 3 sword slice attack.... Now if it was set for you to have to have played #1 then the newbie would be at a major disadvantage and probably not care to play Ge.Ne.Sis #1... of course if it is the other way around... The people who have played Ge.Ne.Sis #1 will have to face monsters with like 1500 hp when they can one shot them and laugh as they walk along... and most likely get bored relatively quickly(or i would)Sooo to sum it up >< what is gonna happen with the sequel and the tale item?(just beat Tale that's why these thoughts kinda came to me =] )Thank you for your time and sorry if this popped up somewhere elseEdit 1: some grammar mistakes ><QuoteEndQuoteEEndJakemaster, I haven't completely decided on how it work yet. QUOTE (Stragas @ Oct 26 2009, 12:03 AM) quotecSo wait... I shouldn't reset the game because tale item will allow few extra features??? How about this instead? Do a feature where we send you the link of us... wait, nvm. That will make people resort to all sorts of things. I was about to say that have a subforum where you show the developers that they got the tale memory and the gamer can do things accordingly... but that will be too much work plus it will lead to all sorts of deceptions...But everyone will have to reset their cookies sometime between the months waiting..... what will happen???QuoteEndQuoteEEndI can keep a log of players who have beat the game on forum and email you guys the code to access extra features for having the Symbol of the Tale from part one. Other than that, I think all player will start at the same level so we can encourage new comers who didn't play part one but still wish to play the second part. Of course you need to beat part one to have all the items and power up and to maximize your character power. I'm not too worried about deceptions tho since it is pretty common for RPG players to share save files or passwords. If they really want to cheat and spend enough time to look for away to have all the power up without playing part 1, I would let them have it. However, if someone enjoy the game that much I'm sure he/she will want to play part 1 anyway.

So.... are you just going to have them give you a print screen or something? Or will it be a quiz..... lol...... quiz to get special item in the game..... the thought of it is odd...... quiz for a game..

ould it be possible for the game to read the sol file for part 1 (if it exists), find out what levels the characters were at, and allow players to start from that point? That way, if someone played Ge.Ne.Sis but didn't complete it, he/she could still take the characters that they had worked on into part 2, even if they weren't level 12/11/11. True, the characters would never be able to achieve maximum level, but maybe that's the price to pay for not finishing the first game. I dunno, it's just an i

thats what i kinda asked originally >< but it would be completely unfair for the new people... they would be like X lvls behind and they wouldn't be able to deal near as much damage =/ so my vote against that... i'd prefer the like code to it if anything because it would be more like having the Lover from this one.... very...very helpful but not necessary to have... kinda feel like i am repeating myself from the original post... that and if something were to go wrong you could just enter the code instead of having to replay the whole Ge.Ne.Sis >

For example, say a character has a stat ratio of Power:Endurance:Magic:Agility 0.5:0.5:0.25:0.75. (This is somewhat balanced for Neraine, but again, it's just an example.) Now assume the starting level of this character in part 2 will be 12.In some way or another get the necessary info of this character out of part 1 (probably by a password). If that character is level 1 according to this password, or if no password were input, then there are 11 levels to go to bring that character up to par. Do so by adding 11x those ratios in stat points. That turns out to be 5.5:5.5:2.75:8.25. There are all kinds of simple algorithms which could be used to balance out the rounding, but let's use a simple one and say this results in stat point expenditures of 6:5:3:8. If the character's level 1 stats were 5:4:4:14, then we have created a level 12 character with stats 11:9:7:15 (note that Agility increases have half the effect since Agility costs 2 stat points).Another example: say a character has a balanced stat ratio of P:E:M:A (Pathetic Emergency Management Agency) of 0.25:0.25:1:0.5. (This is a vaguely decent approximation of a balanced Sisiel.) The password that the player inputs shows that this character had reached level 8 in the previous save file, for stats of 4:3:23:10. To bring the character up to level 11 for part 2, we add 3 levels. 3*(0.25:0.25:1:0.5)=0.75:0.75:3:1.5, which could round to 1:1:3:1 for final stats of 5:4:26:11.This way people who haven't played/finished the old game aren't at a loss in , meaning raw combat potential, but are instead lacking in a specific build. They have generically balanced characters who will be tolerably competent at everything so as to get them through the game, but playing the first game allows us to carry over our particular customized party builds, which means we'd have much more heavily characters, able to qualify earlier for perks.Obviously we can also have items transfer if that's what An wants, though it'd probably be easier not to worry about that and have just stats transfer; we can always use the items right now before transferring the characters, anyway. Tarots should probably transfer but people joining the series in part 2 should be given the Hanged Man and Death later on, so they're just missing them for some of the earlier batt
