It's actually a very nice idea, and it's an interesting way to combine relationship sims (an oft ignored genre outside of Japan) with strategy games. (As noted by EL, Fire Emblem toys with it, and I believe Persona does too.) Considering the colorful characters, and the apparent desire to see more of the tarots on a character level, I think that it would be a great mechanic. However, as I said, it sounds complex, and it might be difficult to code for, except for expressly scripted situations (and that wouldn't really count, since then it's not really an integrated mechanic of the game). It sounds more fitting for a tabletop g

do agree. You could have beaten most of the game on easy, then go back and replay certain battles on normal or hard. There would have to be a level select screen, and it's not the most necessary thing in the world, but it night be nice to have it. Good i

In the first part of the game, the time it costed to summon/soulburst tarots is reasoneable and well fit. The next part, however, will feature 4 tarots per main caracter, and unless the game lengh is extended, I don't see anyone using three or four of them in a single match. So why not facilitate the situation? My idea is to have actually just a little extra: If you pay an energy fee (Possibly the cost of the tarot you want to summon) in adittion to your current tarot's soulburst fee, you will summon the designated tarot in the same turn. That should allow someone to make best use of every tarot in a reasonable match time-spam. How about

I personally don't like this idea as it reduces the drawback of not having that tarot on the field the turn after you soulburst, which is significant and would make soulbursting broken. My suggestion would be to make it so that tarot summons would not take up a turn, however this may be too overpowered as well, but if that's the case we can make the newly summoned tarot not be able to do actions until the next t

You see, your suggestion is also valid, but there's the energy problem: Acting after paying a substantial ammount of enrergy isn't very effective unless you focus on magic or low-cost attacks. Also, that might make the soulburst even more game breaker, by summoning and soulbursting a tarot in the same turn.I know my solution isn't very good, but the problem itself still sta

whether this needs to be changed or not really depends on how versatile each tarot is. For example, if there was a battle where you basically needed to use a strategy that involves three tarots of the same character, then i would say probably change the mechanics as it would take too many turns as is. however i don't see a problem if there are no battles with a similar situation to what i just descri
