QUOTE (Si.Ner.Ge @ May 27 2010, 08:45 PM) quotecSometimes enemies fly up so their sprite is 9/10ths off the screen and you can't hit them with your beast attack. Haven't tried it with the rider's attack, since I was mainly counting on my beast to do all the work. I know that you can fly downward to draw the enemies back onto the screen, but it's often counterproductive when there are missiles/enemies incoming from that area. Also I'm not sure how relative speeds are, whether they'll just go back up top faster than you if you try to fly up.QuoteEndQuoteEEndWait what? You agree that they're just following your rider, yet you want them to be hittable by the beast who's lower than the rider? If they followed just the rider, then not only would your rider miss, but they'd never hit you. In general, you should pick one defensive attribute (endurance or agility) and one offensive one( power or empathy) for optimized usablity. If you want to go really aggressive and reply on good control, you can try Nera with high Empathy and Power, low endurance and medium agility. Her starting agility is pretty good and the bonus in dodge rate at high level on Nera is not bad (I believe she get about 45% dodge rate without increasing agility on her at all at level 20, without gears and bonuses from beasts), so you can pull that Hyper Offensive build(with 2 Mirrage boost, Nera can still hit 85% dodge rate with base agility). Any level 5 beasts aside from Behemoth and Tiamat would do well in that Power/Empathy nera build. Gely with Empathy/Endurance and Tiamat is also a very strong build. Both Endurance and Empathy increase damage of soul blossoms, so that build would maximize the damage of Soul Blossom. Soul blossom is the single attack that deal most damage in the game (about 150,000 without Dragon Heart, comparing to Inferno which deal about 4000 damage). Energy for spamage won't be a problem and Soul Scatter will deal enough damage to cover for you lower power(soul scatter damage is increased by Empathy). HP leeching is not as high as a hybrid build, but still be enough to supply Soul Blossom.Overall, as long as you don't go maxing Agility/Endurance build, I think all other build are viable. Some will be stronger or easier to play than the other, but all should be able to let you beat the game.Agility/Endurance build probly can beat the game too with the right beasts and equipment, but your damage output would be so low that you can only get Bronze medals, and you need to get Gold medals to open the extra level to fight the extra boss (Zodiac Mem

Just did a run with Power/Agility Gelyan. I really dislike Siren and Kraken.Siren's normal attack is in an odd position and unless you pump Empathy, you really can't depend on it to work when you need it, so much of the time it may as well not be there at all. While Kraken's perk is awesome, its breath doesn't last long enough and isn't even guaranteed to hit the enemy you want it to. Yes, I realize these are Endurance-focused beasts and therefore not synergistic. Seems odd that Naga is Agility-focused then.I wound up taking down the Gate of Measure with Siren. Overall, even though I got more gold medals than I've ever gotten before due to pumping Gely's Power in the early game, I consider this run a failure due to my frustration with the endgame. I couldn't even get enough Azure stones to make the final beast, though I did get enough Crimson stones for Power Overwhelming and had ~1500 left over before the Sun Shrine. Low Endurance is so punishing because everything kills you in 1-2 hits, and unless you're Nera your dodge isn't reliable enough to make up for it.Gelyan level 20 [32/8/26/5]Ladon > Naga > [Siren] > KrakenEquipment: Assassin Bracelet, Cursed PendantNo consumables usedOther Equipment crafted: Commanding Badge, Feather Boots, Assassin Bracelet, Power OverwhelmingMisc. Items: 2x 4-Leaf Clover, 9x Aquarius Gem, 2x Forest Wing, 15x Garnet, 2x Holy Water, 2x Life Seed, 4x Poison Blossom, 12x Rainbow Stones, 4x Time Lock. Don't take these as reliable numbers because I had to grind a bunch.I'm a little confused on how Cursed Pendant is supposed to work. Time and time again I've hit frozen Chrono Worms with absolutely no change to my HP. Does it only heal me on a % chance, or is my damage not high enough to gain a significant amount of HP?Interesting that you say Behemoth is bad for Power/Agility Empathy (EDIT: Oops.) Nera. Its perk increases Power by 6, and its breath keys off Empathy only because it disables the rider. Is it merely suboptimal, or is there something actively bad about

Behemoth is good for Power/Agility Nera. I said that it isn't idea for Empathy/Power, but there is nothing very bad about it. It is just other 3 level 3 beasts offer more protection and Behemoth is kinda slow compared to them. It is harder to dodge manually with him or Tiamat. If you go for Empathy/Power, it is important to be able to dodge manually. I'm surprised that there are problems with imbalance number of stones dropped. Did you use Crimson Gust and Azure Breeze? They make making pure-breed beasts much easier. You should try getting Beelzebub on that Agility Gelyan build, I think it will do very w

Small typo in the game, Beelzebub's Beast screen spells its name "Beezlebub".I really like Hydra for Gely, it's also an incentive to use Poison Shot though I would hardly know the optimal times for it. The last time I played I had some problems with lag and wound up dying to the boss in Ghost Ship despite wasting all my consumables. Cue ragequit. How long is Malicious Swarm supposed to last? It seems to go away about half a second after I launch it, but the description says "damage per second." It's really bizarre, the lag's never been quite this shitty before. Even with Agility Nera and Crystal Dust.Did a ton of systemwide cleanup so that .sol file is now gone. Hopefully I can actually play the game this t

The sounds of your character getting hit are way too low, IMO. Especially with Nera's Azure Dance, the AD attack is so loud that it's possible to miss the sounds of Nera getting hit by enemies until you're practically dead. Also, the Taurus battle appears to have been fixed, in that there's no unhittable zone anymore, though now I can't beat it with Nera for some reason T_TIn the cutscene after Taurus is defeated, when Esis appears, she overlaps Nera's sprite. The timing of the cutscenes is also a little bizarre, in that you have control of your character for a few seconds before the cutscene starts. Also, why isn't it just click to continue? Why spacebar? It's nowhere near any of the other game relevant buttons.Gemini Lake is still a really short and easy level. (Gely Level 8, Cyclop, Conjured Divine Rosary afterward)Have enough Azure Stones to make Gargoyle, which I hear is on the overpowered side, though god-awfully slow.Level 9 now, and Twin Spring was another effortless Gold even though I wasn't trying to (manually) dodge half the t

Yeah, Chamomile wanted Azure Dance nerfed so I suggested shortening its vertical hitbox. Now you can't just sit way above bosses and slash at 'em forever. :P It should still be plenty big, though; I haven't tried it, but I only suggested dropping it by about 3 pixels in each direction, which is a more significant decrease than it sounds like it is. Was it nerfed too much? I'll check it out in a bit.Yeah, not just that, but also IIRC that's the conversation in which Gelyan speaks and his sprite never shows up.Eh, spacebar didn't bother me: thumb on spacebar, second through fourth fingers on the number keys. Click to continue is a little less convenient on a replay; you don't need to read the convos the second time through, so you'll probably just be holding the mouse button as you play and can spam the spacebar without letting go of it in order to skip cutsce

his is true, but since these cutscenes are at the of each level (tutorial aside), I don't think a cutscene skip option is really a necessity. The problem in DtRoT was that people were dying and had to sit through cutscenes each time they retried a battle

probly won't have an option to skip cutscene since they are few far in between and rather shot. Most of them are at the end of the levels like EL suggested so they only play once. I will look into boost up the volume of being hit so

eah, everything you collected in the level will stay. The only downfall of dying is that you won't get the bonus from medal and beating the level. I will add a system to track how many days (each attempt to a level is a day) that player use to beat the game for competitive value. I imagine a really hardcore play can beat the game without the optionals levels. (Windres Village > Moonbreak Forest > Gate of Measure > Ancient Shine... if that is even possi
