It's located hereStoryline(and i'll put in writing here as well...)The storyline is pretty good, it sets itself up well with a nice introduction/tutorial scene and does well fleshing out the main characters, developing their motives,backgrounds(well... for 2 of them anyway, the rest are kinda iffy at the moment.) and moves pretty quickly. The writing is witty(... albeit sometimes you just feel like head palming at some of the lamer jokes.... which are ABUNDANT in the game). A lot of the storyline hasn't really been revealed yet(much like Sonny if you want a comparison, you get the WHY you're doing things but never the real reasons behind them as of yet. ... other than survival of course.) The story is set to be... 8 chapters long if i'm not wrong(although at the rate that the author puts them out, it will be a while before it's finished...) The characters themselves are fairly good albeit some of the reactions are kind of weird. In particular, I dislike how Steele in Mardek 2 got a moment of sadness then as soon as you moved on with the storyline, everyone seemed to be happily making lame jokes again, whilst it fits the game, realistically it's a bit odd for Emile to be so... neutral about it after that scene. There's also the problem of length at the moment because the 2 chapters are actually very short. Chapter 1 is more of an intro rather than a full game and chapter 2 is worth about... 3-4 hours of gameplay at the most. The characters portrayed for the most part are good although the secret characters are mute bundles of character with practically no backstory which earns a HUGE minus from me. Some of the characters you'd expect to join you/be used in battle never do either although I presume they will eventually be recruitable in later chapters.7/10GraphicsAhahah... I have to say I'm biased for these graphics XD; I grew up playing games for the snes and these graphics really do remind me of them. That said, some of the scenery is a a bit... stiff in comparison to SNES rpg games(i.e I was a bit annoyed by some of the towns due to it's odd structure/tile placement) and the inbattle graphics are lacking in detail but overall I felt it was pretty good in general.7/10GameplayClassic RPG gameplay with levels, stats, elements and so on forth. The only twist is that it uses the timing system ala Mario rpgs(Super Mario rpg for the snes, Paper Mario for the N64 and the various Mario and luigi rpgs for the GBA/NDS) in that you can assign and use certain reaction abilities(such as Damage +20% or Magic Damage -50%). Challenge wise varies but for someone who doesn't spend too much time levelling up, the game is decently challenging(RPG vets will find it on the easy side though.) with very few bosses which will require strategy beyond hitting them with their weakness. Speaking of grinding/levelling, it's very painful to raise character's levels in the game which leads to secret characters being even less useful because they will be stuck in your "back" party which can't be used in battle unless you put them in much like other games that use this system, your main party will almost always outlevel and outperform your backup members thus making collecting them more of a bonus feature rather than a useful one. Reactive abilities(i.e the timed abilities I mentioned above) need to be used a LOT before you can master it and switch to a different weapon/armor(think ff9's weapon based ability system) this adds a lot of grinding time as battles aren't exactly short to begin with and can cause you to get stuck with fairly bad armor.7/10Music/soundsA really like the music in this one to be honest. It's really got that old school feeling you get when you boot up an old SNES RPG. That said, it does get repetitive after a while and is nowhere near the level of soundtracks like Chrono Cross,Xenosaga and Xenogears, it will have to be content with8/10OverallIt's a good rpg game that's good to kill a few hours. Just be warned about the really bad jokes.... 7.5/10Pros-SNES era graphics-Fitting music-Decently challenging for mostCons-SHORT-Pointless extra characters-Can be easy for people who play a lot of rpgs.Edit: Added a link for those who want to try it out.Edit 2: Added another con and expanded the gameplay section a bit to reflect that... ALSO added an overall score cause i forgot to put one in >_&

The rest are useful bonuses but hardly necessary to complete the game(or bonus cont

Every other battle the animations would freeze, forcing me to reboot FireFox. I wonder if it's a compatability issue.I give them both a 6.5/13.88. The storyline saved the rating from going down to 2, and the addition of reactive abilities is also to credit. All in all, I'd play it once. At most. >_

Of course, because of how absurdly huge Mardek is, it's only reasonable that it would be split into separate files.I myself have neglected to finish the first non-prologue chapter since it seemed too grind-happy, but I might pick it up again when and if the whole thing is completed. o, apparently there are 8 chapters to mardrek. I gave up when the 3rd one took 3 years to come out. Although the revamped system was very nice. (p.s. he revamped all of them even the first t

A project that long is basically asking to get cut short. Hopefully for those who like the game, it won't end prematurely, but I'm not optimistic.I guess I'll get around to playing it in about a decade or so when it's finally finis
