I used fairly straightforward builds here, nothing like my unorthodox Sisily and Neraine builds you'll see posted elsewhere, so you should be able to play through the whole game building up to this, since most of you probably do anyway.Neraine has 5 points in Power and 1 in Endurance, just enough to qualify for Enchanting Rhyme and Absolute Authority for a total of 50% Defense Piercing (and a helpful +2 Power). The rest of her points are in Magic. If I did my math right, it looks like I accidentally used a Breath on her so she has one more point in Magic. Sorry, but it doesn't really make a difference in this ridiculously easy fight. Note that a Power or Agility Neraine is actually preferable in this particular fight since a Power Neraine can heal even more easily on Cerberus during the first turn and an Agility Neraine can just dodge the crap out of his attacks. Neither really matters, though, since she only fights once and then it's over.Gelyan is pure Endurance with two Green perks. Straightforward, but it doesn't matter. He never fights.Sisily is straight Magic and two Red perks. Again, straightforward.Starting position.Okay, move Neraine to the left and summon the High Priestess where she was. Sisily summons the Magician right below her. Gelyan does the same for the Fool. Emi can stay where she is or you can move her around if you feel so inclined; her awesome mobility makes it a moot point. Your map should look like this now:Okay, Cerberus' turn. You're out of reach of his first action..."Two heads are better than one! I'm sure I can figure out who to attack!""See, I won't go for the Fool cuz he has high physical resistance! Nevermind the fact that my LASER BREATH is effective on him!""Yeah, definitely, my two brains made the right decision. Red attacks on the character with the highest Red resistance, yes sirree, I am a smart two-headed dog."So yeah, Cerberus will almost invariably go for Neraine, which makes the first turn laughably easy to survive. If he does somehow decide to go for someone else, they should survive anyway; he's got a pitifully small chance of killing the Fool that only happens if he uses his laser for all four attacks, and he'd have to hit Gelyan with every single attack to kill him if you've got an Endurance build going.Moon Waltz, healing the minor damage he did in his first attack...Ouch, what's this? Decent damage? Irritating. And it's not like I have any HP leeching or anything since I didn't summon De

Oh, wait, I do. Essence of Slyness = <3Rape, rape, rape....So that's Neraine at the end of the first turn. If you're really unlucky your health will be a bit lower, but not much. If you're lucky, you'll be a lot closer to full health. Either way, it doesn't matter, because you're not only about to heal up, but you're also going to kill him before he can move again.First order of action...Soulburst the High Priestess.See that right there? That's like a big sign in front of the enemy boss' face saying "Game Over" every time you do that. You've Soulbursted the High Priestess, so now you've won. Kill Cerberus. No, seriously. Look at Sisily's stupidly high Magic score now.How ridiculous is that? And the Magician's isn't shabby either, as you'll see because it's now his turn. Use Meteor Strike.Yeah, that just happened. The Magician just used a Red-natured attack against a Red-natured opponent and did that much damage. Yeah.Wait for the non-Reds.So, it's Sisily's turn. Make her wait, since she regenerates 44 Energy a turn right now and that'd be a waste with your ridiculous Energy pool. Of course, almost all your characters (EVEN GELYAN!) are going to be filling up the pool every turn anyway, but still, it's nice to to make this fight seem like it takes some tactics. So now it's the Fool's turn. Of course, Thunder Rod. The High Priestess' Soulburst just rapes the hell out of every boss ridiculously well. Oh wait, it's Gelyan's turn? But he doesn't get a Magic advantage. What're we gonna do on his turn?Plasma Soulstice, the Fool's Soulburst.Ladies and gentlemen, THAT JUST HAPPENED.Cerberus is basically just dead now. Let's rub it in his face a bit more. Emi's turn. Move left. Triple Energy Sphere. You see that smug smirk Emi's got? That translates to "I know you're already dead but I'm still going to enjoy killing you more."2076 damage, then 2072 damage, then 2061 damage, for me. Your damage will vary but as long as it's somewhere around there this is going to be overkill by about 4000 damage any

Because he has THAT LITTLE HEALTH. That means Sisily has to do about 4270 damage per Warp Tornado to kill him. (Yes, you've been spamming high-Energy attacks and you keep maxing out your Energy Orb anyway. <3 Blue Paradise.)Guess how much she does? She looks curious too.Ah. That much. Twice. Overkill by 3500.Die! Good boy.Isn't it, though?Congratulations. If you've followed this you just killed Cerberus on Insane in two turns with little effort losing no one other than the Tarots you Soulbursted. I hope you have a newfound respect for the High Priestess and can understand why I say boss battles are generally a lot easier than fighting multiple enemies. This is basically how I've always handled every boss fight ever since about halfway through my first run of the game. Blue Paradise is amazing.I'll do one on Reciful later when Imageshack isn't being so irritat

Anyway, I hope this thread will show that the High Priestess is obsolete when Death comes along. People on the forum seem to like Death, but I think the High Priestess is easily the most powerful Tarot in Ge.Ne.Sis part 1. Death's only powerful in specific combos; the High Priestess is amazing in pretty much any scenario. So, once Imageshack stops being irritating or someone suggests another imagehosting site, I can post my similar walkthrough for Reciful, again without losing anyone but the Tarots you Soulburst, because the High Priestess, far from being a docile lil' healer, is a frickin' goddess of destruct

EDIT: Ah, okay.Blue Paradise gives you an awesome +3 Energy per character each round; even if the character isn't directly dependent on Magic for damage, that's helpful. It depends on your builds, but if you're going with, say, a Power Gelyan instead of Endurance, and you have a Moon Waltz Neraine, then that Magic boost makes up for the High Priestess' absence because Gelyan is going to be HP-leeching massively due to Essence of Slyness (and maybe Vampirism) and Neraine's Moon Waltz will heal more, in addition to increasing her damage enough for Essence of Slyness to be helpful as well. Endurance Gelyans, however, benefit more from having the High Priestess out on the field, since she heals a percentage of max HP and Gelyan can have a lot of max HP, and the same goes for Power Neraines, whose high max HPs are similarly meant to be comboed with the High Priestess -- not to mention the fact that Power Neraines don't care about Energy, so that Magic boost isn't too helpful.Single-enemy boss fights aren't the only use for Blue Paradise, though. That massive damage increase lets you kill the Shadow Master by turn 2, effectively ignoring all the other Shadows on the field, via the same basic tactic I used on Cerberus above. And against multiple enemies it can be powerful too, since the Magician's Soulburst also increases massively in damage. If you use the Lovers, it's especially ridiculous, since they can further weaken enemies against Red damage before that, effectively creating a 4-turn Armageddon co

"Very well. Nothing will matter when you are dead." An amusing prelude to another easy, though longer, battle. It kinda feels tedious doing this same thing right after doing it on Cerberus, which is why I usually don't bother with killing Reciful; I like breaks between my battles. (I'd be bored out of my mind in a months-long siege.) But for those of you who wanna do it, just follow the above guide to waltz through Cerberus, and then we can do it all again! With slight variations, of course.Starting position. First turn. Move Neraine to the same place as in the Cerberus fight, but summon Death to her right instead of the High Priestess. Sisily can move below Gelyan now and summon the Magician to her left, since Reciful can't move 8 squares in a turn. Gelyan should summon the Fool to his right; Emi shouldn't move.If your map doesn't look like this, you suck at following instructions.Next turn. Have Death cast Soul Eater to do some damage before her noble sacrifice. Now move Neraine down a slot and cast Soul Ritual. The Magician should go left two spaces (he can burrow past obstacles like a Flyer because he's awesome) and cast Meteor Strike. (Technically, if you want, you can wait past Neraine's turn, cast Meteor Strike, then go all the way back to Neraine's turn, but that minor collateral damage she takes by moving you cast Meteor Strike isn't a big deal since Reciful never damages her. Ever.) Sisily, wait. Fool, use Thunder Rod. Gelyan, slam him twice with Soul Pact for 17,598 damage guaranteed (that's 21% of his health). Emi, wait. Sisily, take a deep breath, then use Warp Tornado, and breath a sigh of relief if you manage to hit with every attack, because you'll now be at less than 300 health. (If you miss with any, as is expected, you'll have a larger margin of safety, but even on a perfect roll you can't kill yourself with one Warp Tornado, thankfully.) Skip your next attack with Sisily, obviously, so you don't die. Emi, move above Neraine now that she's slid down for you, and fry Reciful's face with a triple Energy Sphere from a maxed-out Energy Link.Reciful sits around idiotically. Make Neraine wait cuz Sisily and Emi are jerks and blocking her summoning spots. Meteor Strike. Sisily should wait too. Fool, Thunder Rod. Gelyan needs to wait since he won't have enough Energy to do a 2x Soul Pact if he goes now (cuz his Magic score sucks, but we're about to fix that). Emi, run through Reciful as he sits around uselessly, so you're now two spaces to his left (diagonally up-left from the Magician), and fry him again with two Energy Spheres -- and a Spark if you think it'll hit. Now Neraine can summon upwards, so do so. Sisily should skip her turn, filling the Energy pool for Gelyan while healing from the now-summoned Priestess. As for the now-Energy-satiated Gely, 2x Soul Pact awesomeness ensues, with its customary 110% hit chance on Reciful.Use Grand Blessing on Sisily as backup. Everything from here on out should be familiar. Neraine: Blue Paradise. Magician: Meteor Strike. Sisily: wait. Fool: Thunder Rod. Gelyan: Plasma Solstice. Emi: move above Neraine to where the High Priestess was, and slam Reciful with a triple Energy Sphere . For me, this was way overkill (he had 110 HP left after the first Sphere), but if you somehow had horrible luck then you've now got a power-and-magic-boosted Sisily to finish him off with Warp Tornado and still keep everyone alive. If that's STILL somehow not enough, that's why I had you move the Magician where I did: Reciful will move to attack it next turn, not killing any of your real damage dealers, so you can wail on him next round for 30000+ damage. This has been another Total Domination from EternalLurker, courtesy of the High Priestess. My apologies for forgetting to take a screen shot at the point right before "Next turn."
