The answer is undoubtedly yes. The character might not be used in any of the games, but you can definitely make one. That's kind of the point of the Creative Thread section. This made me think, with An's approval of course, that we could have a contest. It would be presided over by An (or EL if An is too busy), and the winner would be either a character in an upcoming game, or just illustrated by An. It's all in good fun, so even if you don't care about winning or you don't think it's good enough, submit it, because I know that at least I would like to see what the rest of the people on this forum would come up with. That said, I humbly request permission for this contest from

hile that is true, I added that post so that he doesn't think up 80 billion characters and then get sad when he can't use them all. Besides, even if An doesn't approve this contest, I was going to do a no-reward contest with multiple judges to keep it f

QUOTE (Jeff @ Oct 16 2010, 12:54 PM) quotecAnother important note would be the story development - or rather, lack thereof, as the game essentially degenerates into a giant grindfest with no more stated purpose than "kill those guys quickly before something vague but definitely horrible happens". No real plot twists, no diversity, no side-stories... all-in-all, compared to the colorful atmosphere and variety the original offered, it felt so straightforward one might call it bland. So essentially, as a game it bets most of its success on actual gameplay rather than flavor and background - aforementioned issues aside, the game accomplishes what it intends to, and gives the player a more-than-satisfactory variety of choices to pick from, giving it insane replayability value. However, two more things must be noted here: the first is the chaotic structure of the game's various menus - the tutorial fails to enlighten the player as to the real mechanics behind each, and without a thorough reading of the guide, which is masterfully made by the way, one would easily get lost and might take a - very - wrong path he might regret, especially with the absence of any convenient "reset" ways for stats and Spirit Beasts. So basically the learning curve is rather steep. The second point is one that afflicted the first game as well, though not to the same degree. The written portion of the game, and especially the guide, is littered with typographic errors, syntax, structure and grammatical mistakes, and a lot of other annoyances. No offense meant, naturally, but it just feels like it was hastily typed and never proofread at all. For certain gamers who pay a lot of attention to detail, like yours truly, such overlooks deter strongly from the overall image of an otherwise polished game.QuoteEndQuoteEEndJeff, you say that you pay attention to detail, and that you noticed all the typographical errors in the guides. For that, I am grateful. Having said that, I feel the need to note the hypocrisy in your own statement by pointing out the fact that your own complaint about the grammar in the guide has numerous grammatical errors in it. An's first language is NOT English, and he should be commended for his work on the game and guide already.
