It was a long slog to win, with Gely firing 3 'Soul Pacts' and doing about 15,000 HP damage per turn plus the Fool tossing a Thunder Rod when I had enough energy, and Reciful recovering almost 13,000 per turn. It took a *long* time to get through the battle, wearing Reciful down, averaging about 3000 points per turn. To invest that kind of mind-numbing effort in a battle only to hit this bug and then read the explanation in the forum - "you're not supposed to win" - is incredibly weak. What am I supposed to do now, go back and lose the battle on purpose? I *won* the dang battle, and I won if fair and square -- now I deserve my proper reward! There really needs to be a story fork that allows for the possibility of winning the battle, even if winning is not expected.Sorry if I sound unappreciative - it's really a fun game and I've been enjoying it a lot. It's just disheartening to come so far, put in so much effort, and then hit a bug like this. PLEASE PLEASE fix

I see the warning, go into the battle expecting I'll probably die, and gradually realize I'm not dying...in fact, I'm making slow progress. Am I supposed to say to myself "Oh, wait, he's technically unbeatable, I better stop beating him?"The warning doesn't matter. If the perk had been active for that attack, then Gely would have died by your second Soul Pact.Technically, that is a glitch, not a feature of Soul Pact. It should not be exempt from Reciful's Perk. And in response to your question, yes, you should just lie down and die. Click here for an explanation of the glitch.Summary: If Soul Pact weren't immune to the Heaven's Child perk, Gelyan would kill himself each round, since he attacks twice and each attack does damage equal to his health and Heaven's Child reflects 50% damage. That's 100% of his health in damage, which added to the 30% health loss from Soul Pact itself would deal 130% HP damage to Gelyan, killing him dead.So yeah, go ahead and beat Reciful without using Soul Pact at all and then you can complain about the game not accounting for the possibility of Reciful losing. ;) Seriously. If you beat Reciful without using Soul Pact I will find out where you live and give you a real-life cookie.Alternately, if you just have Gelyan attack once per round with Soul Pact instead of twice, it is possible to keep him "alive". If you do that and keep track of what his health should be, then beat Reciful without Gelyan's "real health" ever dropping below 0, that'd give you the right to complain about this as well. However, since I've already done that, it won't get you a cookie. >_

I tried to beat Reciful without SP, and I got him to about 75% HP before he pwned my last character (The Fool).I have tried this several times (7, to be exact) and 75% is the best I could do. (Sorry, forgot to screenshot...

...Ah, so that was what was bugging me about your statement, Cham. Tarots can't be the last alive.

...If you have not been playing the game every now and then, then you would most likely forget that Tarots are not considered for last character alive. The moment you lose Neraine, Gelyan, Sisily and Emi (not in that order), you automatically lose. Regardless of remaining Tarots.
