eah, you don't have to tell me that. I'm well aware that it's probably not a glitch. That's why I asked him to explain the circumstances. For all I know he's switched computers entirely. >_

QUOTE (Foufoutos @ Nov 8 2009, 09:53 PM) quotecHell everyone,I have been playing ge.ne.sis since it came up at Armor games and i can say that it is quite addicting and of course very enjoyable. My question is:How lond does it take for your saved data to vanish(since the last time you played it)?and is there a way to prevent it?Thanks you for your time.P.S: Keep on the good work An!!!!:)QuoteEndQuoteEEndspeaking, saved data don't "vanish". Ge.Ne.Sis, like most other flash-based games, uses the so-called "Cookies" to store data into your computer (we're simply talking about a small .txt file here, no need to be concerned about it), as well as storing the relative information in the cache, so when you reload the game, the Cookies are automatically loaded and you can continue your game. It is important to remember that the data is stored on your computer, not on the website that hosts the game, and certainly not in any funky way that allows you to, say, start the game on Armor Games and expect to find your saved game on Kongregate.Either way, the reasons why you cannot find your saved games vary:1) You are on a different computer. Simply go back to the computer you saved the game with.2) You have cleared your browser cache. Nothing you can do this way, unfortunately.3) You have, either manually or using a Cookie-removal program, cleared the cookies that contained your saved game info. Again, nothing can be done here.4) You have formatted part of or your entire hard drive. Again, you can't do much here.5) Your cookies are corrupted. Commonly observed in a malware / virus infected computer. Then again, a saved game would be the least of your worries in that case. I think the most probable situation would be you accidentally - probably unaware of it, as, no offense meant, you don't seem very experienced in the trade - deleted your Cookies or cleared your cache. Unfortunately, there's nothing you or we can do to help you in this case. The only route is to replay the game (if you've played it once, it shouldn't take nearly that long if you choose Easy difficulty) up to the point you were before and continue in the desired difficulty setting.P.S. Before someone asks, no, cookies and cache do not amount to the same thing. Almost, but not qu

Cleaner doesn't remove Cookies unless you specifically instruct it to. In which case, it'd be much simpler to just exclude the relevant Cookies you need to keep, and keep the cache intact. But theoretically, your way could work

But anyway, as he said you can either manually choose cookies to keep, or simply not delete cookies altogether - they ain't much of an issue normally anyhow. And yeah, automatic deletion of cookies can happen, but it's unlikely if you're using a regular pc.quoteo(post=1159:date=Nov 10 2009, 01:22 AM:name=Si.Ner.Ge)QUOTE (Si.Ner.Ge @ Nov 10 2009, 01:22 AM) quotecThat's odd...I use my browser's cache clearing and cookie clearing tools regularly and all my saved data is still here.(Which reminds me, a question about the Lovers. CCleaner is a much more reliable tool for getting the job done.I'm wondering about the Lovers,

I keep mine until they expire. As well, if you have the box marked, "Clear history when Firefox closes", You can either unckeck that, or, if you're still paranoid about your history, you can tweak the settings so that cookies don't get deleted with everything else.Tell me if you're using IE. If you are, I'll look for a similar setting with that. ( I still think FireFox kick's IE's Ass
