the reason for this is that ballad's damage is backloaded on the physical portion of the ability, combined with the facts that there is no way to be able to whittle it down to one waltz for 40 power in a pure magic and at 40 power more HP will be leeched than moon waltz will heal.Assuming you take 18 power, 20 agi, 12 magic, and 8 fort, it will be possible to maintain the 2 moon waltz 3 ballad chain, yet gain the versatility of any perk combination possible, possibly doing even more damage from a 75% armor ignore, at least against boss-like enemiesremember that when you setup a playthrough for the 2nd game save, or at least make sure you keep a divine breath for endg

QUOTE (Icarus @ Oct 21 2009, 08:46 AM) quotecin the walkthough it stated that a moon waltz build is built for endgame, after observing the mechanics, i have come to the conclusion that the build peaks at lvl 13.the reason for this is that ballad's damage is backloaded on the physical portion of the ability, combined with the facts that there is no way to be able to whittle it down to one waltz for 40 power in a pure magic and at 40 power more HP will be leeched than moon waltz will heal.Assuming you take 18 power, 20 agi, 12 magic, and 8 fort, it will be possible to maintain the 2 moon waltz 3 ballad chain, yet gain the versatility of any perk combination possible, possibly doing even more damage from a 75% armor ignore, at least against boss-like enemiesremember that when you setup a playthrough for the 2nd game save, or at least make sure you keep a divine breath for endgame.QuoteEndQuoteEEndIt is true that the Balanced Build is more flexiable, however, I still think Moon Waltz build will deal more damage per duel than Balance build. Since you have to use only 1 Moon Waltz to raise your power to max and 4 Ballads for the rest of the duel. The high magic portion of Moon Waltz build also enchant the damage of the Iceberg and increase overall damage. Also, there are still two hidden battle abilities for each character.

also thinking through things now an 18/4/16/20 then +2 magic since you can drop a point each from potions that you get in the first one and then +2 power from absolute authority gives you 20 power and 18 Magic, +1 fort from a pot as well, all you need is a heal from the priestess or another pair of potions that i assume will show up in the 2nd game, and you have 20/5/20/20, a waltz brings you to 40/5/20/20 then 4 ballads and you sit at 75% armor ignore, all you miss out on is celestial rhyme, assuming another stamina pot gives you battle rhyme, if you get an agi pot from lovers, you can even end up w/ a 20/8/20/20, then again you could always run 10/8/30/20 for really sexy ballad numbersthen again the 2 abilities might change everythin
