EternalLurker here, hijacking this thread! We get a of threads asking about how to beat a specific battle, so it's time we stop cluttering this board with such questions when we can just put them all in one big question-and-answer thread. I'll be updating the third post here with any particularly good suggestions people make. So, if you need help on a battle, ask away here! Post your character stats so that we can tailor our advice to your party. To start us off, here's roseta's question: (original post continues below)Hi I need helpI can't seam do do well in the 14th battleI tried to do every thing that I could Do it did not work can someone tellMe a step by step how to win I don't knowwhere to place every body the creature can move a lot /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif

Found the game on Kongregate, and it's highly under-rated AND only has about 223k players total who tried it out, since November of 2009. That aside; I tried to beat it on a normal run and found my self struggling with Cerberus and that side-quest fight with Armlus, so after a while I decided to go dig around for a strategy guide, instead of lowering the difficulty to easy, as that would hurt my pride so much =(, but as I was looking for the answers I needed on here: I grew aware to the fact that my build's were complete BS and that I would have to either re-stat everyone or struggle with what I have now; on normal mode I might add.So with that said: I'm going to restart the entire game on insane mode, since I'm already going to get assistance for the game. I decided to just screw finishing the normal run if I was already going to get assistance anyway and since my builds are probably worthless in my current situation, then there really is no point. Which hopefully makes my cry for aid a bit easier to deal with, since I'll be dealing with a clean slate. Now then, on to the question at hand:I need help with building proper build's for all three characters; no, I don't need end-game stuff, what I need is a step-by-step process by which every level I know what point to invest in for the long run and what perk's will allow me to bull-doze over most battles and what perks I need for other battles that require a different strategy.I also need help with each battle, if at all possible as I do realize that there are a lot of battles to be had, and no, the basic strategy guide does not help me at all since it doesn't deal with player positioning or skill usage as well as how to proceed per turn, which should be left up to the person playing the game. But I learned with this game and with the difficulty I've decided to re-start on: that a single turn or miss-placed character could lead to either a quick down-fall or a drawn-out demise. I'll admit that I have absolutely no sense of direction when it comes to this game, I was usually just doing whatever I could to spend the first turn summoning up everyone and building up my energy to 30, while simultaneously making sure the enemy/boss couldn't reach me on their end. Then my strategy was to check what their affinity was and go from there. I've not really progressed in any way in getting the right strategy down when versing normal mobs or bosses and I honestly do not know where to begin. The basic guide that the developer has up is great....for those who are properly attuned with their tactics and formula's, however; I am but a simple layman who requires actual/concrete guidance....as a blind person would when crossing the street...so I hope the community would be kind enough to atleast point me in the right direction in stat building, and if anyone is truly feeling generous: a layout of all the battle's and step-by-step method's of defeating each stage; like what Lurker posted about Cerberus.Hmm, oh right, if anyone's curious at what type of play-style I'm interested in, as that would determine which build would be well-suited for me: I'd have to say something that get's me through the game from start to finish, with as little re-stating as possible.Um, I'm not sure if anyone's going to even oblige my request as there could be a number of ways to go about it with how vaguely I described my situation, plus I'm pretty sure most individuals would just say: "Figure it out yourself, the basics are already here on builds and there's a basic guide on each stage", but I can honestly say it will not help me, as difficult as it may to believe, because I would be implying that I literally need someone to hold my hand and walk me through it all, but I assure you: it is what I'm implying as I lack the proper aptitude to improvise on ambiguous situations, which is why I have gone into a bit of length in this post to: 1. Find out how to bring out each character's best traits and what the best build's would be to optimize their performance. (Which would include how to spend point's per level and what the character's perk/stat's should look like by the time I re-face Cerberus.) 2. A stage-by-stage; in-depth guide on how you completed each stage, including the side-quests. I'm really not too picky about what strategy was used, no matter how mundane it may be.3. Err, explain why I can't really do most of this on my own due to my ineptitude and lack of creativity/adaptivity. =(....Not really much to say at this point, as I believe I've already explained everything in enough detail for most individual's to understand, but if anyone still need's an even more in-depth explanation, feel free to ask. I humbly thank anyone even reading up to this point and I appreciate any assistance, whether it's in the form of even more vague advice on how to proceed in my new re-run of the game or explicative information which would guarantee a near fool-proof way to beat the game. PS - I hope this thread isn't dead and I just necro-ed it from the pit's of the abyss =x.

Lemme get a very slightly more detailed playstyle clarification from you: are you looking for something that'll be solid enough to crush enemies really quickly if all goes well, though a slip-up could cost you dearly; or are you looking for something survivable enough to deal with a couple misplaced characters, at the cost of taking longer to finish each le

I'ma go and do an Insane run once on Kongregate now. Sorry, sorry XD!But, yeah, I'm still stuck on the Yeti's X_x. As for the difference's in games: I already read a post on here about how Kong/newground's version of the game were the most up-to-date one's, as An had stated that armoredgame's had yet to install that version and it may still be the case that they have the older version of Ge.ne.sis. Thanks for taking the time to play through the game again for my sake =D!, although the benefit to you would be the sheer nostalgia of re-living the game while waiting for the second release next year, which is awesome right? (Errm, or atleast I hope it is, unless it's really taking up your time and is more of a bother than anything x

Charlus battle:Randomness notes: This battle can be slightly luck-dependent on Insane mode, as with any battle in which tanking is dodge-based rather than health-based. For optimal results the Magician needs to dodge Charlus' attack at least once, or he'll die too quickly. He dodges an average of two of Charlus' attacks, so this is usually fine, but you can get luck-screwed and have him dodge none at all. For best results, Sisily should dodge at least one enemy attack, though she'll dodge an average of two so this is pretty safe as well, and it's not entirely necessary anyway.General idea: The babies are more of a threat offensively than Charlus, who's pretty inaccurate. Charlus will rape the Magician and his terrible Agility, but he shouldn't hit Sisily or Emi much. Unfortunately, Sisily's damage still sucks at this point in the game, so to kill Charlus quickly we'll have to time our attacks with Emi such that she's got at least 20 Energy at the start of combat; this makes her stronger due to her Energy Linked perk. The babies are really the biggest issue since they're extraordinarily accurate, so we'll want to kill them with field attacks.Turn 1:RUUUUNNNNN >_> Emi just left of the bottom-right, Sisily just above the bottom-right, Magician to Sisily's left.Turn 2:Meteor Strike on middle baby; should hit every single enemy. Others skip their turns.Counterattack Charlus with x2 Flame Fury; note that this is an inaccurate attack, so the amount of shots that hit will slightly affect our next turn. He should be two spaces left of the Magician, with the three babies lined up behind him perfectly. Ah, if only there were straight-line field attacks like Kaleido-Ruby's in Battle Moon Wars....Turn 3:Magician waits. Sisily moves up-right from Charlus and beats his face in with x2 Fiery Flowers. Emi moves left one and beats his face in with x2 Energy Sphere. Magician has exactly 10 Energy (told ya this game is often about calculating your Energy totals properly), so move him to the bottom-right and use Meteor Strike. If Charlus has less than 430 health remaining, use it on the baby next to Charlus; if he has more, hit him directly; if he's dead, hit the middle baby, of course.Babies start attacking. This is the part where things get a bit luck-based. Sisily will generally get knocked out here because she's pretty terrible until at least level 10, but hopefully she can do a bit of damage before she goes down. If you get ridiculously lucky and dodge 5/6 enemy attacks, so she somehow survives, this is really easy: just hit 'em with Meteor Strike, then Soulburst, and Emi will finish off the rest. Otherwise, read on.Endgame:From here on out, things depend on enemy health, which is based on the earlier Meteor and how much damage Sisily did before going down. Just try to finish off wounded enemies with Energy Sphere (Spark is unfortunately terribly inaccurate) and Flame Rush. There should only be one yeti by the end of this turn after your counterattack phase, so one guy should go down easily to Flame Fury (make Emi skip her phases if necessary to get the Magician the Energy he needs; Flame Fury does ridiculous damage and easily makes up for Emi not attacking). Is this any help? This the kind of information you wan

Armlus battle:Turn 1:Sisily as far down-left as she can go, Magician to her right (just next to Emi). Emi moves above the Magician.Turn 2:Emi waltzes past Armlus to hit Charlus with a triple Energy Sphere. Yay for +1 Agility. Magician uses Energy Transfer (AFTER Emi attacks, otherwise you're wasting Energy), Sisily skips her turn.Counterattack phase:Armlus attacks. Hopefully Sisily dodges one attack; both have to hit to kill her. Otherwise, try again. This is the unfortunate truth about playing on Insane, which is why I usually don't. Charlus attacks Emi; counter with x1 Energy Sphere so you're at 21 Energy.Turn 3:Emi hits Charlus with x2 Energy Sphere, no more than that (you can Spark for the last attack, but do NOT use another Energy Sphere). You're at 17 Energy (18 if you didn't bother to Spark.) Meteor Strike Charlus in the face, then Soulburst. Battle over.Sisily + Emi Leaper battle:Turn 1:Emi at (4, 0), Sisily at (4, 4), Magician at (5, 4) -- that's (x,y) coordinates.Counterattack phase:Left Leaper goes to Sisily's left just out of range; right Leaper stupidly walks right into the middle of all three of you, so let's beat the crap out of him.Turn 2:Magician sits still and slams the Leaper twice with Flame Rush. Sisily goes down one and hits him twice with Fiery Flowers. Emi finishes him with an Energy Sphere.Counterattack phase:Remaining Leaper attacks Sisily. Don't waste your Energy fighting back; he'll just HP-leech to compensate for whatever damage you do, since he attacks after you due to getting an extra attack. (1 attack per round at 1-5 Agility, 2 attacks per round at 6-13 Agility, 3 attacks per round at 14-17 Agility, 4 attacks per round at 18-19 Agility, 5 attacks per round at 20 Agility)Turn 3:Just beat up the last Leaper from a range of 2 again: Flame Rush, Fiery Flowers, Energy Sphere. Alternately you could slam him with Meteor Strike, Energy Sphere, Soulburst. Kinda doesn't really matter.Neraine+Gelyan Leaper battle:

Btw, it is still possible to win the Armlus fight even with Sisi disposed of. I'd say that Sisi should be the only death in that fight, so that the magician + Emi can get in attacks. But it still depends as Flame Fury is only 85% accurate here....so by those standards: going by your strategy would be a lot more consistent, even if you'd need to have Sisi pull off a luck dodge to survive a whole turn, since in return it becomes a guaranteed vict

Everyone v Leapers+Yetis:-Suggested starting arrangement: Neraine waits, Sisily moves down one to summon the Magician to her right, Gelyan stays put, Emi moves two spaces to Gelyan's left, Neraine summons the HP to her left (where Emi was).--Enemies close in. Beat up the attacking Leaper with Jelly Shot -> Trigger Happy.-HP attacks the full-health Leaper for some pitiful amount of damage (NOT the wounded one). Neraine Soulbursts the High Priestess. Magician waits. Sisily moves up one (between Gelyan and Emi) to beat up that Leaper some more with x2 Fiery Flowers. If it's dead, great; if not, it'll die to the Soulburst eventually, so don't worry. Now Gelyan slams Yeti #2 with x2 Trigger Happy. Emi moves just past Gelyan to finish raping the Yeti by spamming Spark (he'll die to two, and you get three attacks in case one misses). Magician moves one space left and hits the Leaper with Meteor Strike, hopefully killing it (otherwise, again, it'll die to Solar Wrath).--Emi gets attacked a lot. Keep spamming Spark until she dies (she will unless you're ridiculously lucky).-Gelyan beats on the big yeti with x2 Trigger Happy. Neraine swings for the finish (she should be right above Gelyan right now, and this way she'll kill it on her first attack and thus take no damage from its powerful melee-range attack). That should be basically it: I don't remember the end of this anymore, but it was probably just "Soulburst the Magician and beat up on the last remaining Yeti baby".Battle end: Neraine gets +2 Power, Sisily gets +2 Magic, Gelyan gets +2 Endurance.Hope that helps. QUOTE (EternalLurker @ Jul 21 2010, 09:18 PM) quotecThe issue with letting Sisily die in that fight is that the Magician needs to deal damage to Charlus; your Energy will be lower with Sisily dead, so Emi's Energy Linked perk will be weaker. Either strategy is acceptable. Emi's damage becomes pretty crappy by the endgame (the curse of not being a main character), so I guess I kinda like to have her shine early on, since she's really amazing in her first five fights or so.Everyone v Leapers+Yetis:-Suggested starting arrangement: Neraine waits, Sisily moves down one to summon the Magician to her right, Gelyan stays put, Emi moves two spaces to Gelyan's left, Neraine summons the HP to her left (where Emi was).--Enemies close in.
