Yes, I think the question speaks for itself - how can I beat Tale without the Lovers? I would really LOVE to get the Lovers, but I'm still a minor and my parents would kill me, if I asked them to get a Credit Card or Paypal, so that I can finish a game ^^"If I had to, I would restart the game and just try for a specific build for every character this time (I just kinda went all over the place with the stats, because I didn't unterstand the system at first (yes, I know, stupid me, it's really not that hard to understand ^^" ) ).I mean, I understand, Tale is the last boss and is supposed to be hard - but I've been trying for DAYS and I just can't find a way to beat him /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> And I want to beat him so badly! With any other game I would have dropped it by now, but I just can't do it with Ge.Ne.Sis. IT'S HAUNTING ME!It's haunting me with it's awesome story, it's beautyful music, it's cool characters (especially Geylan, he's the best!) and just everything else (expect for Tale Memory, I hate him by now XD )And I actually didn't have that much problem with all the other fights. Okay, the Trojan was hard, but not SO hard and I can't recall Cerberus as a "really hard fight" either (maybe I did something wrong XD )So please, tell me how I can beat Tale, yes?! =)Btw, out of curiosity:Ge.Ne.Sis = Geylan, Nera, Sisi right?! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> P.S.: Sorry if I made any spelling/grammar-mistakes. I'm from Germany and my English isn't the best ^^&q

Can you post your character build and onto the forum? It would be lot easier for us to give you a strategy that fit your build. Also, did you use the item "Divine Breath" ? Do you still have any other breath items l

I just got a new computer (so I no longer have my Ge.ne.sis file), but I think that my character builds were the following (I did math to figure it out based on perks, items, and stat points gained):*Stats are displayed as Pwr/End/Mag/Agi*Note: I did all of the side quests, so Nera was level 12, Gely was level 11, and Sisi was level 11. Also, I had every Tarot except for Lovers.Nera - Modified Moon Waltz build (traded some magic for higher agility)Stats (including perk modifications) - 10/4/12/20Perks - Power Overwhelming (+3 Power); Flash Steps (+1 movement, +100 dodge)Gely - Power BuildStats (including perk modifications) - 26/3/6/9 (used Crimson Breath for +1 Pwr)Perks - Marksmanship (range +1, endurance -2); Sniper Sense (range +1, power +2, endurance -3)Sisi - Magic BuildStats (including perk modifications) - 4/6/28/10 (used Ocean Breath and Nature Breath for +1 Mag and +1 End)Perks - Energized Soul (+25% energy regen rate); Shining Soul (+3 magic, ignore 25% of enemy's resist)My setup was:coloro:#FFFFFF/coloro___colorc/colorcRockcoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro___colorc/colorc|coloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_colorc/colorcEmicoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_colorc/colorc|The MagicianTale Memory|Neracoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_colorc/colorc|Gelycoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_______colorc/colorc|High Priestesscoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro___colorc/colorcRockcoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro___colorc/colorc|coloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_colorc/colorcSisicoloro:#FFFFFF/coloro_colorc/colorc|The FoolNera should be doing nothing, Sisi, Gely, and Emi should be attacking, The Fool should be using Thunder Rod, The Magician should be using Energy Transfer, and High Priestess should be healing with Grand Blessing. I first tried putting Emi in back and The Magician in front, but I found that Emi can do more damage to Tale Memory due to The Magicians relatively low accuracy. Also, The Magician's energy transfer skill is very useful. If you find yourself low on energy, skip Emi's attacks and/or don't use Thunder Rod. Although the extra damage helps, you need energy left over after attacking to keep Nera alive. Due to The Fool's perk and High Priestess's perk, some characters will be able to heal themselves sufficiently. I would advise, however, that you wait until after each character takes their turn to use Grand Blessing so you know who needs to be healed. Additionally, make sure that you space out Sisi's turn and The Magician's turn so you aren't wasting energy. When Nera is attacked, use Moon Waltz once or twice (if you used the Moon Waltz build) and then attack with Crystal Ballad to recover HP.If you use this strategy, none of your characters should die. If you used different builds for Nera and Gely, they should still be able to recover a lot of HP due to natural HP regen and The Fool's perk. Tale Memory WILL take a long time to kill due to its high HP regen, but you will eventually

Divine Breath on Gelyan, restat him by putting all his points in Endurance, then use the +Endurance breath on him. Give him both Green perks.--Now you have a character who's damn hard to kill, does perfectly consistent damage (Soul Pact does have a chance of missing, but it's pretty accurate and Gelyan reduces his enemy's dodge rate, so it's still 100% accurate on the Tale Memory), and still has great range.Give Neraine the +Power breath. Give her Enchanting Rhyme and Absolute Authority.--Ignoring 50% of her opponent's Defense will allow Neraine to do fairly consistent damage at her 16 Power, though it'd be better if that extra Endurance point and the two Magic points were invested in Power, or better yet if she were at 20 Agility for yet another attack. No big deal, though.Give Sisily the +Magic breath. Give her Energized Soul and Shining Soul.--This is the weak point of your party. Sisily needs Magic to fund the others' strongest abilities. Since she doesn't have much, Neraine will probably be using her 0-Energy attack for this fight instead of Crystal Ballad as she should. On the bright side, due to the Endurance you gave her she should be able to survive the Tale Memory's infuriating field-skill spam for a while.Alternately, give Sisily instead of Neraine the +Power breath in order to boost Warp Tornado, then give Neraine Enchanting Rhyme and Flash Steps for better tanking. Come to think of it, I kinda like that route a bit more.Basic strategy on the Tale Memory: get Neraine to the front (which is why, now that I think about it, I'd suggest Neraine's Flash Step perk rather than Absolute Authority, so give the +Power to Sisily instead if you do that), summon Death behind her, move Sisily right below Gelyan, summon the Magician to her left, have Gelyan summon the Hanged Man above him, and have Emi move to the left of the Hanged Man. The Tale Memory should move up to Neraine to try to kill her (unless he's being a jerk and spamming field skills, which happens often and is a basically unwinnable situation since it's guaranteed to kill Sisily and Emi in moments; restart if that happens). She should be able to tank him for a round, especially with Flash Step. Next, have Death use Soul Eater, have Neraine Soul Burst him, have Gelyan Soulburst the Hanged Man, and move Sisily to where Death was so that she can help out with the attacking. Everyone should be able to move into attack range this turn, since Emi and the Magician are fliers (hence my suggestions about their movements last turn). Now that he's paralyzed for two turns, basically just start wailing on him with all your characters, making sure to give Neraine a chance to summon the High Priestess and preferably letting Gelyan summon the Fool too. Normally the Fool can add quite a bit of damage with his Thunder Rod, but I don't think your Sisily can fuel that much in the way of Energy expenditures. The Magician, in spite of his high damage, may be relegated to Energy Transfer here. Gelyan will likely be your primary source of damage with doubly-spammed Soul Pacts; don't worry, he'll heal it all back every turn, especially with the High Priestess helping out. I suggest sticking to Sisily as your secondary damage source with her Warp Tornado, since your Power and Magic are fairly balanced on her.Good luck. I don't think I can suggest much more than that. If you can record a video of your playing I could point out exactly what you're doing wrong in the fight, ma

If you use Divine Breath on Nera, get 7Power, 20 Agility and the rest into magic. If you use divine Breath of Sisily, get 14 Agility and the 17 magic and the rest to endurance.Proceed with the battle as EL suggested, with Nera as tanker, Sisily and Gelyan as damage dealer. Remember to use the Hanged Man and Death Soul Burst's and summon the High Priestess.

MB, balanced builds are fine as long as you're still looking ahead on the Perk screen to make sure you qualify for the right things. Neraine in particular makes a very good balanced character, and if you choose the right perks Sisily can become a monstrous tank and damage dealer with a balanced build. Balance is generally not a great idea for Gelyan, who's better off focusing on Power or Endurance, but for the other two it's fine if it's done ri
an
Also, as EL said. Balanced builds are good but make sure you watch out for the party combination since characters depend on one another. If no one go for physical attack or no no one go for magic, the party will be unbalan

Neraine's dodge increasing with her default Central Perk is, according to my calculations, 40 + 6*lvl, which scales so well that she really doesn't need much Agility to boost her dodging capabilities. Furthermore, I'm going for Rave Dancer eventually from this, so dodge won't matter anyway, nor will Power. She'll do insanely reliable damage with Crystal Ballad at 35 Power / 34 Magic (35 if I get another Divine Breath for her in the second part) ignoring 100% enemy Defense and 25% enemy Dodge and healing 1700 HP with each Moon Waltz, not to mention being an amazing Energy battery for Gelyan, who moves right after her. Well, it'll be a good build as long as we don't fight any enemies with >1000 Dodge, since 200% Hit attacks like Crystal Ballad's second part automiss on those enemies. <_<EDIT: I just glanced at the code and verified that her Dodge bonus from Blade Dancer is, in fact, 40+6(lvl).

@Draconator: Hah, I'm sorry, I never saw your post. When I said "Post your stats precisely, please" I was referring to Lydia. I dunno how I missed your guide , but that was very descriptive and the general ideas were good. (Except the part about skipping Emi's attacks: even her basic 1-Energy attacks do decent damage because of her high Magic score, so never skip her turn. ^_^) Although you obviously have Lovers, despite claiming that you didn't....You can't get the Wind Breath anywhere other than the fight with the Lov

ops... I didn't have lovers when I beat Tale memory with that party, but I recently got a new computer and I couldn't remember which stat boosting items I got, so I just looked at the item list (on the guide) and tried to remember. I'll update my guide now and get rid of that mistake. Nera must have had only 12 Magic, not 14, because I know that she had 20 Agi., so I must have spent one additional level increasing Agi. to get to 20 without Wind bre

I FINALLY BEAT TALE MEMORY! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> *totally happy*I used Divine Breath on Nera, wanna see my new stats?(Why do I even ask? I'm gonna show them to you anyway XD )Nera: (Lvl 12)P: 14E: 9M: 11A: 15Sorry everyone, but I just couldn't find ANY use for the 20 Agility. Tales attacks NEVER missed, so I decided to use the statpoints somewhere else XDI used the magic and power-breath on Gely and the endurance-breath on Nera. The rest of the battle was normal.Summon Death, Hanged Man and Magican, soulbursted Death and HM, brought everyone in position, summoned Fool and High Pristess - and then all I needed was over half an hour time AND TALE WAS BEATEN! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />But I actually never used Moonwalz that much, I normally just saved the Energy and had then the Pristess heal Nera (when Tale actually attacked her, most of the time, he luckily used his worthless fullscreen-attack, so I could heal Gely, who had to use Soul Pact all the time XD ).So, now I'm bored, where's part 2?! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif
